Want to put away your frames for good? Pay us a visit and we’ll show you how!

Getting Contacts Is As Easy As 1…2…3..!

Assuming your eyes are healthy, getting contact lenses is a straightforward three-step process.

The first step is to book an appointment to have your eyes examined. During this exam we ensure that your eyes are healthy candidates for contact lenses, determine your eye shape, and inform you of the next steps and what to expect.

After the initial fitment exam we will set you up with a contact lens trial. This trial will help you get used to wearing contacts, and it will also serve as a literal trial run of the lens style we have recommended.

We will meet a few weeks after your trial to get your perspective on how it went. If the lenses were uncomfortable or unsuitable for some reason, we will try a different set of lenses. It is not uncommon to run two or three trials until we find the perfect combination.

No matter what, you can trust that we have your best interests in mind throughout the process.

Learn More About Contact Lenses

Contact lenses are a great alternative, complement, or addition to eyeglasses. Millions of Americans wear them every day- you may find that they are great for you!

Suitability & Comfort

Contact lenses are suitable for most prescriptions and needs. However, those that have eye health problems, chronic dry eye, prior eye surgeries, or other injuries that influence eye health may not be suitable for contact lenses. We will determine whether or not you’re a fit for contact lenses during your fitment exam.

All contact lenses have what’s called an “adaptation period”, where your eyes adjust to the lens. This period is typically brief, lasting just a few days (for most people), though different types of contact lenses have different adaptation periods. Be assured that most people quickly adapt to contact lenses.

Contact Lens Types

Soft lenses are the choice of most contact lens wearers. These lenses are comfortable and come in many versions, depending on how you want to wear them.

Daily wear – Affordable and convenient, these lenses are worn daily and replaced on a schedule (depending on the type and brand of lens you wear). These can not be worn overnight.

Extended wear – These lenses can be worn overnight and worn for extended periods of time. However, they must still be cleaned regularly.

Disposable lenses – These lenses offer the ultimate in convenience. They are discarded on a regular schedule: nightly, weekly, biweekly, or monthly. Most people find this type of lens the most comfortable to wear.

Daily disposable lenses are – by far – the most popular type of contact lens available today. Not only are their more convenient, but their wear schedule makes them less likely to cause eye irritation. They are also the most comfortable type of lens for those with dry eye.

These types of contact lenses offer specialized benefits and are ideally suited for specific cases (such as dry eye or astigmatism).

Scleral contact lenses – Scleral lenses are larger than standard contact lenses and rest on the sclera as opposed to the cornea. These lenses are suitable for people with irregular corneas, and may also be an option for people that have dry eye syndrome. If you’ve ever been told that your irregular eye shape ruled out contact lenses, scleral lenses may be a great option.

Toric contact lenses – These lenses are suitable for people with astigmatism, as they contain multiple lens powers on a single lens.
