Dr. Ramos established Eastern Virginia Eye Associates in 2003. With military roots, she was born in NY, but raised in the Hampton Roads area, graduating from Norfolk Academy. She then received her bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia and then after completing internships at the Beverly Hills Laser and Vision Institute in California, Newington Veterans Hospital in Connecticut, and the Charlotte Eye, Ear, Nose, and Throat Clinic in North Carolina, she graduated with her doctorate degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry/Salus University in Philadelphia, PA.
Dr. Ramos has truly enjoyed seeing her patients and their families grow throughout the years. It is this personal connection with her patients that she feels has made this her true calling and has made her genuinely love her profession. Together with her husband and associates, she has continually grown and expanded the practice to include specialty services dedicated to advanced dry eye treatments and aesthetic services.
Dr. Ramos was awarded ‘Top 40 under 40' in 2004. She is a graduate of the Disney Business Institute where she learned to implement the world-renowned Disney service principles to better her patient's experience at Eastern Virginia Eye Associates. She completed the Management Business Academy program and was featured in their MBA publication. She is a member of St. Stephen Martyr, Roman Catholic Church. Dr. Ramos serves on the alumni board of her Alma Mater, Norfolk Academy, and the CHKD Future Generations Board, with a special emphasis on Mental Health Awareness and support of the new hospital. She enjoys traveling and staying physically active, truly believing she can only be the best wife, mother, and doctor when she is at her peak, physically, mentally and spiritually. She is married to Dr. Shane Swatts and they reside in Chesapeake with their two daughters and Buddy, their beloved bulldog.
